Hair today, gone tomorrow!

OK, can I get much cheesier than that title?!?

While we were visiting my parents in Florida, I got my hair cut. It may not sound like a big deal, but for me it was about as monumental as climbing Mount Everest. (Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but you get the point.) After Anna was born, I decided to let my hair grow out because it was so much easier to pull it back into a ponytail. I mean, at the time, I was lucky to get a shower long enough to wash my hair! But blow dry it, too?!?! HA! Not in my world!

Months went by and it was getting pretty long. Long enough that I decided I would donate it to Locks of Love (see the link in my sidebar.) When I got my facts straight, I learned that it had to be at least ten inches to be used in a wig. (FYI, they will take all lengths of hair, but those that are not at least ten inches will be sold to offset the cost of operations, etc.) This was only the beginning of many torturous months of waiting for it to grow long enough to be used. And you know what they say about watching water boil. I absolutely hated having hair that long; I looked terrible, but I had already made up my mind that I was going to do it.

So, here are the pictures:

Of course, my hair doesn't look like that on a daily basis. Actually, it hasn't since the day I got it cut. But I love it and it's definitely more "me" than all that long hair. I just hope there is a child out there who enjoys her (or his) wig. And yes, that is the lady that cut my hair.

Isn't it the best feeling in the world to just chop off a whole lot of it? I love it. It's such a cleansing experience. Yay for you!
