When you're the best of friends...

Did anyone get that Disney movie reference?

Here are just some of the photos that I took when Mandy and Emma were here to visit. Mandy and I met when we were 13 years old (almost 14)--on our first day of high school--and have been friends for 16 years! (Yup, this year is the big 3-oh. I'd better acknowledge it right up front.) We have been through all kinds of things together, many of which could be posts unto themselves. (I have so many stories!) Before I get all teary-eyed and blustery, I'll just say that Anna and I loved spending time with our dear friends and were so sad to see them go.

Here's Emma. She's got some of the prettiest blue eyes I've ever seen; the lucky girl has good genes!

We took the girls to the Children's Museum and they had a blast.

Here's one of Mandy with the girls. They were listening to one of the museum facilitators read a story. After the story they got to be crafty and make a train. What two year old doesn't love crayons and a glue stick?

One of Anna's favorite places to play is Playscape, a special area for preschoolers. The sand table is always the first place she dashes off to. Emma really liked it, too. Doesn't she look like she might decided to jump right in?

The other favored area of play is the very large water table.

I love this one. Look how she's up on her tippy-toes.

If you think Emma looks a little tired in this photo, it's because she was. Neither one of the girls got a nap, but they were troopers and did so well!

I love to see them play together. A blondie and a brunette...just like their mommies!

Mandy--this one is for you!!!

After the Children's Museum we went over to Circle Center and had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. I absolutely love that place, for the menu and the atmosphere.

The girls are such sweet friends! In the car, they held hands, goofed off, (as only two year olds can do), giggled, and talked up a storm. Mandy and I were cracking up just listening to their two little voices in the backseat. They were definitely competition for their chatterbox mommies in the front!

The hand holding, as you can see, continued into dinner. (These next few are my favorite photos of the day!)

Little girlfriends...

...and mommy girlfriends!

We love you girls and miss you tons!
